BOOK
For at least two days the thick novel
Has rested on a brick pedestal undisturbed
Passed by as if it was a piece of garbage
All those words left to the elements
Nobody has the time or inclination
To rummage through them
As we're busy texting or watching TikToks
Anything other than reading literature
But I'm actually surprised
No one has taken the book
Looks like it makes a good doorstop
